Taking the pictoral route we think there some really smart suggestions in this post. One that we are quite focussed on at the moment is the resurgence in brass finished lighting. We think it's clearly set to replace copper as the new darling metallic finish.
The curators from Canada's Interior Design Show have released their interior design calls for 2018. It's always great to hear from seasoned professionals and we love that they have recognised that lighting will form one of the avenues in 2018 for people to make a big impact in their design.
The Lux Pad has put together a wonderfully comprehensive post here pulling together views on 2018 trends from a range of interior design experts. Take a hint from the first section on hot colours for 2018. I think the jewel blue will be a real winner due to the contrast it creates with whites and golden brass.
Interiorzine takes a great twist here with a look at design trends influencing smaller spaces in 2018. There's also some great retrospective feature lighting here including a look at pendant lights from lighting legend Poul Henningsen.
This is a nice little slideshow based look at what is predicted for home interiors in the UK from House Beautiful. One prediction that we've been excited about for some time is the increased use of tropical plant prints/wallpapers and a focus on bringing more plants indoors.
An nice succinct but on the money post from Csw here. Featuring terracotta tiles you can really start to see a number of the trends across these posts coming together. Terracotta and indoor plants? Yes please.
Colour is one of the most important elements of any interior design and WGSN is on the money here with their colour hue predictions for 2018. Theres a great selection of muted and matt colours here from some of the worlds best paint companies as well as a peak at some wallpaper trends.
Zoe Clark has put together a nice line up of trends for 2018 for Design Campus that really ties together nicely. We particularly like the view on metallics which is to contrast a range of tones together. This is an approach you can definitely take with lighting.
A great take on some of the common themes here from Lushome. One of our favs is the take on historical items whether that be decor items or revealing aspects of an older home like uncovered brickwork or salvaged wood.
A great wrap of views here from some of Australia's best interior experts as covered by our very own Domain. We're particularly excited by the direction we see the Moroccan mosaics trend head over this year as predicted by Georgia Ezra.
2018 is set to be a cracking year in interior design. We're looking forward to trying our hand with a few of the design tips included in these articles and we'll be taking a deeper dive into how some of these trends will play out in the lighting space in future posts.
